Spicy Crabs can be served as starters or side.
Ingredients:
Dungeness Crab - 1, cut into pieces.
Vegetable oil - 2 tsp
Coconut Oil - 2 tsp ( Optionally use 2 tsp more of Vegetable oil)
Green chilies - 4 (or less)
Fresh ground black pepper - 1/4 tsp
Garlic, finely chopped - 1/4 tsp
Ginger, finely chopped - 1/2 tsp
Curry Leaves - 7-8
Tamarind paste - 1/4 tsp
Salt - to taste
Turmeric powder - pinch
Coriander seeds - 1/2 tsp
2 Cloves
Piece of cinnamon

Method:
- Dry roast coriander seeds, cloves and cinnamon and grind to make a fine powder. Alternately, use the Garam Masala powder you have.
- Wash crab and drain all the water. Apply salt and turmeric powder. Cook covered in the microwave for a minute or 2.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add curry leaves and green chilies.
- Add crabs,garlic and ginger. Keep turning the crabs.
- Add Tamarind, garam masala powder and salt
- Cook covered on medium heat for 5 mins, occasionally turning the pieces.
- Once the crab is cooked, turn on the heat and cook till the pieces start to turn brown. Remove immediately and serve hot with a salad or rice and dal.
