Cabbage Salad




Simple way to make a cabbage salad.





Ingredients:
2 cups shredded cabbage
Curry Leaves - 5-6
Mustard seeds - 2 tsp
Turmeric - pinch (optional)
Coconut oil - 2 tbsp (optionally you could use vegetable oil)
Salt to taste
Whole Red chilies - 2
Sugar - pinch
Cilantro/Coriander Leaves, chopped - 1 tbsp
Fresh grated coconut - 1 tbsp (optional)

Method:

  • Heat oil and add mustard seeds, red chilies and turmeric.
  • Once mustrard splutters, add curry leaves, cabbage, salt and sugar.
  • On a low flame, keep turning the cabbage for about a minute till all the cabbage is coated with oil and seasoning. Do not allow the cabbage to cook, it should be crunchy.
  • Turn the heat off and mix in the cilantro and coconut and serve.
