Healthy Sardine Cakes served with salad or sautéed spinach.
Ingredients:
2 tins – Sardines in oil
½ cup red onion – finely chopped
¼ tsp – turmeric powder
½ tsp – chili powder
1 medium potato – boiled and mashed
Grated ginger - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Cilantro – ½ cup
Oil for frying
Semolina (Rawa/Sooji) for coating
Method:
- Discard bones and mash sardines using a fork. Add all the ingredients except Semolina and oil. Make 4 patties/cakes.
- Heat pan and add a spoonful of oil. Lightly coat cakes with semolina. Fry fish cakes till brown on each side.
- Serve hot with some sriracha sauce.
