Palak Murg (Spinach Chicken) or Gobi palak



Chicken and Spinach - great with roti or paratha. Replace Chicken with Cauliflower to make Gobi Palak ( Cauliflower Spinach Curry)





Ingredients:
onion - 1/2 sliced
garlic - 2 cloves, chopped
ginger - 1/2 tsp, grated
bay leaf - 1
cloves - 2
cinnamon - 1/2 inch
Oil
tomato - 1 , finely chopped
green chilies - 1 or 2
spinach - 3 bunches , chopped
salt to taste
garam masala - pinch
coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
red chili powder - 1/4 tsp
boneless chicken - 1 breast, cut into small pieces

Method:
  • Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. Add cloves, cinnamon and bayleaf.
  • Add onion and saute till pink.
  • Add chicken pieces, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt and saute. Add 2 tbsp water if required and cook covered on a low heat till chicken is done.
  • Add tomatoes, green chilies and spinach and cook till spinach is done. Add some more salt to taste. Keep frying on high heat till oil starts to separate and all the water has evaporated.
